Robert Woodson “Bobby” Mills was born on January 20, 1926, in Grainger County, TN to Lonnie Albert Mills and Myrtle Lea Joyce Mills. Siblings: Doris Lillian Mills, who died before he was born, and Marjorie J. Mills, who died at the age of four in 1932
He enlisted on July 29, 1944 in Fort Oglethorpe, GA and died on April 18, 1945, in Germany.
Pfc Mills was buried in Harrill Cemetery, Grainger County, in 1946
His double cousin Pvt. James O Joyce Jr. died in the Korean war.
