Charles Henry Lankford was the son of Dailey Franklin Lankford and Nancy Sevier King. He was initially buried at Champigneul Cemetery at Chalons-sur-Marne, France and reburied at Epinal American Cemetery, Epinal (Vosges) France, Plot A, Row 29, Grave 61.
His brother Edwin K. Lankford was killed in action on 22 March 1944.
