Zollie David “Z.D.” Christian was the son of David Lyons Christian & Ellen P. Bailey
He enlisted in Nashville, Tennessee on 7 June 1918 and died at the Naval Hospital, Key West, Florida, of respiratory disease on 23 October 1918 at the age of 31.

Bristol, Tenn. Death of Z.D. Christian, 32, died of pneumonia at a naval hospital at Key West, Florida, Wednesday night. The body will be taken to Church Hill, Tenn where burial will be made. Mr. Christian was formerly associated with the Taylor-Christian hat company of this city. He is survived by his mother, five brothers and two sisters.
