The body of Pvt. Y.J. Leatherwood, 20, arrived in Newport Saturday afternoon.
Pvt. Leatherwood served with the 88th Div. of the 5th Army. He was killed in action April 17, 1945 in Northern Italy.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Leatherwood, Hartford: four brothers, Lawrence Elma with the U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga., Olan John Lewis and Vick, all of Hartford; three sisters, Mrs. Dorcas Laws, Jeanette and Ethel Leatherwood all of Hartford.
