William “Willie” Otto McCartt was born in Tennessee in 1916 and was the son of Calvin Harrison McCartt Delilia Dyer. He was survived by his parents and three sisters.
He was initially buried at the Blosville Cemetery at Carentan in France and re-buried at the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France, C, 14, 39.
