The War Department today said it had been unable to locate relatives or friends of 16 men, including Sgt. William Waller, 263rd Quartermaster Co., who died in a Japanese prison camp. Sgt. Waller was born at Bridgeport, Tenn., (Cocke County) on Oct. 15, 1888. He was white and single. Enlisted Nov. 21, 1940 at Stotsenburg, Philippine Islands, and gave his home address as Bridgeport. He died on a date not reported in a Japanese prison camp in the Philippines. Emergency addresse to be located is Mrs. Lillie Cunningham, sister, St. Louis, Mo. Clifford Waller, brother, at Camp Grant, Ill, was also named, but the War Department said “all efforts to locate the emergency addressees have been unsuccessful.”
