William “Billy” Eugene Satterfield was the son of Otto Burton Satterfield and Virginia Bell Thomas.

William Satterfield was initially buried at Iwo Jima 3rd Marine Division Cemetery, Kazan Retto. He is buried at the Honolulu, HI Cemetery,  Plot N, Grave 14.

The Chattanooga Daily Times, 30 May 1943:
Pvt. William E. Satterfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Satterfield, of 1611 Mitchell Avenue, is now stationed with the Marine Corps at Williamsburg, Va. Before enlisting with the Marines three months ago, Pvt. Satterfield was attending Central High.
