William Clay Weisgerber was born 6 July 1921 in Anderson County, Tennessee. His parents were Harry Lee Weisgerber and Elizabeth Mae Seals. He enlisted on 18 October 1940 and served as a Pvt. in HQ Battery, 42nd Field Artillery. He died 24 June 1944 in France and was initially buried at Sainte- Mère-Eglise #2 Cemetery at Carentan, France. Interment date 12 January 1949 in Knoxville National Cemetery, Knoxville, Tennessee.
