William Clarence Rudd was born on 11 July 1922 in Sevier, Tennessee. He was the son of William Eulace Rudd and Josie V. Reed.
PFC Rudd enlisted on 13 February 1946 at Camp Chaffee, Fort Smith, Arkansas. He died on 24 January 1947 in service to his country at the age of 24. He is buried at Boyds Creek Cemetery, Sevier County, Tennessee.
