Private Wallace Lauderback, 23, of 609 East Cumberland Avenue, was accidentally drowned July 25 on duty with the U.S. Army at Bowling Green, Va. He was a son of Mrs. Viola Lauderback of this city. Survivors, mother; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Davidson, Mrs. Willie Mae Muckle; one brother, Robert Lauderback, all of Knoxville. Body arrived in Knoxville Tuesday and was taken to A. R. Wheeler & Son Chapel. Funeral at East Vine Avenue Christian Church. Interment in National Cemetery. Members of American Legion will be pallbearers and Austin High School Class of 1942 will be honorary pallbearers.
