Lt. William L. Williamson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Williamson, 321 Guild Drive, Brainerd Hills, died of wounds received with a Third Army unit in Germany, March 21. He was assigned to duty with the 90th Division. A member of the First Methodist Church, he volunteered for service following his graduation from Mississippi State College in June, 1942. He received basic training in New Mexico and graduated from officers training school, Miami, Fla., in October, 1943. He later was assigned to the Fourth Ferrying Group stationed in Memphis. Transferred to the infantry last December, he went overseas following a six-week training period at Fort Benning, Ga. He arrived in France March 10.
