Wililam Harding Elsea was born on 8 October 1920 to Charles Rufus Elsea and Lula Maude Dorsett. He was married to Euva Lee Aslinger.

PFC Elsea died on board of the U.S.S. Solace and was initially buried at the USAF Cemetery, Manila, the Philippines, No. 2, P.I.

The body of Pfc. William Harding Elsea arrived at Dayton and was taken to Sawyer’s Funeral Service to await the hour of service. Pfc. Elsea entered the marine corps Nov. 8, 1943 and was 23 years of age at the time of his death on Peleilu Island. He is survived by his wife, the former Euva Lee Aslinger; a son, Conny Mack Elsea of Sale Creek; mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Elsea, Sale Creek; four sisters, Mrs. Clifton Shipley, Mrs. Fred Burton, Miss Aleta Elsea, Sale Creek and Mrs. Arnold Nixon of Dayton; one brother, Paul Elsea, Sale Creek. Before entering the service he was employed by the Dixie Mercerizing Company at Lupton City for four years, where his wife is at present employed. He was a member of New Providence Methodist Church.
