Funeral services for Private Tillman Howard Williams, who was killed in action March 23, 1945 in the vicinity of Fort Statsenburg, Luzon Philippine Islands, will be conducted at the Lynn Avenue Church of God. Burial will be in Happy Valley Memorial Park, with full military honors accorded at the grave.
Pvt. Williams entered service in September 1942 and received his training at Fort Riley, Kansas; Santa-Rosa, California; Camp Hood, Texas and Belmont, California. He was sent overseas December 1, 1944. He received his education in Elizabethton schools. Prior to entering service, he was an employee of the Skein wash department at American Bemberg corporation.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Edith Williams Hampton;  stepfather, Hobert M. Hampton; one brother, Hunter J. Williams; one nephew, Hunter Williams Jr.; one niece, Betty Jean Williams, all of Elizabethton; one step sister, Mrs. Edith Tolley of Heaton, N.S.; three aunts, Mrs. Bill SMithpeters, Mrs. Henery Greenwell and Mrs. Lewis Lagrande, of Elizabethton; two uncles, George Williams of Elizabethton, and S/Sgt Edwin Williams of Berlin, Germany.
