Sanford Sloan was the son of John C. Sloan and Lillie Sizemore. He died of wounds suffered near Bitschoffen, Germany.

Staff Sgt. Sanford Sloan, wounded in France, Feb. 3, 1945, passed away Feb. 4, 1945. Served with Company F, 410th Infantry. Resided with mother, Route 1, before entering service; was 22 years old.
Survived by mother, Mrs. Lillie Sloan, three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Matcher, Misses Stella and Malzean Sloan, all of Walland.
