Sgt. Sam Questell Miller was a member of the Light Machine Gun Platoon, Company H, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while on patrol in the Kumdong Valley near Majon-ni, North Korea during an enemy ambush on November 2, 1950

Marine Sgt. Sam Q. Miller, Son of Mr. and Mrs. George V. Miller, 309 South Cornell, was killed in Korea, Nov. 2, the Defense Department announced Monday. Details of the death were not given. Miller had last written his parents, Oct. 11, saying he was to take part in an amphibious landing following the operation at Inchon. The Marine, who was 20, was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and attended school there. He entered the Marine Corps two years ago. A brother, Jack, is now in the Navy at San Diego, Cal. Two others, George Jr., and William, served in the Navy during World War II.

The body of Sgt. Sam Q. Miller, 21, who was killed in action in 1950 in Korea, will be returned to Albuquerque today with T/Sgt James W. Sage as military escort. Sgt. Miller is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George V. Miller, 2807 Monterey SE;  three brothers, William and George V. Jr., Albuquerque, and Jack V, Chattanooga, Tenn., and a sister, Martha Frances Miller, Albuquerque.
