Private First Class Sam Amer Humphrey was born in 1921. He was the son of James Humphrey and Rose Ann Hatcher. He enlisted for military service on September 7, 1942, in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was killed in action in Italy on July 12, 1944.
