Rodger Alan Vandergriff was the son of Glenn Fredric Vandergriff and Rebecca Jane Carmichael. He was a graduate of South High School and was married in October 1968 with the former Brenda Haworth. Pfc. Vandergriff was killed during heavy ground fighting near Da Nang, Vietnam. He had been stationed there about two months.
