Robert Jake Melton was the son of William Horace Melton and Lucretia “Creasie” Adaline Sanders. Pfc. Melton had been in service two years and overseas six months. He was killed in action in France. Survivors besides his mother, are two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Huff and Lizzie Flowers. He was employed by a transfer firm before he entered the Army.
