The body of Pvt. Robert Eckard Burleson, who was killed in action in Luxembourg January 18, 1945, will arrive Friday at Webb Funeral Home here. The body will be taken to the home of a sister, Mrs. Jason Byrd of Forbes, and will remain there until time for funeral services in Mt. View Baptist Church, Honeycutt. Pvt. Burleson attended Tipton High School, was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church and was employed at Johnson City, Tenn., prior to entering service June 22, 1944. He received basic training at Camp Blanding, Fla., and was assigned overseas December 1, 1944, with Company G. 319th Infantry. Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Ida Burleson of Honeycutt; two sons, Robert and Carl of Morganton; three sisters, Mrs. Gus Miller and Mrs. Baxter Bennett of Relief and Mrs. Jason Byrd of Forbes; three brothers, Oscar and Grant of Johnson City, Tenn., and Earl of Honeycutt.
