Paul Tom Loyd was born on 14 November 1924in Erwin, Tennessee. He was the son of Benjamin B Lloyd and Blanche Bessie Payne.
He died of his injuries after an automobile accident at the public highway at Erwin, Unicoi County in Tennessee on 5 April 1944. He was a truck driver for the S.S. Coal Company.
He was discharged from the U.S. Navy in the summer of 1943 and had been working at odd jobs since then. He was survived by his parents, one brother and six sisters.
