Paul Samuel Stout was born in Mascot, Tennessee. He was the son of Robert Pascall Stout and Melinda Jane Foust. He was married to Ruby Irene Rose and father of Eddie Leon Stout. He enlisted on November 10, 1942, in Fort Oglethorpe, GA

Pfc. Stout was killed in action July 1, 1944, in Italy. He was temporarily buried at Follonica in Italy and in 1949 re-buried in Roseberry Cemetery, Knoxville
