Private Paul Masters was born in May 1900 in Erwin, Tennessee. He was the son of Abraham Lincoln Masters and Delia Masters. He was the brother of Rhoda Masters. He joined the Army at age 19. He was sent overseas on June 14, 1917. He served in the 95th Prisoner of War Escort Company, 28th Infantry, Company G. He died of wounds on November 9, 1918. He is buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery in Romagne, France (Plot F, Row 29, Grave 17).
