Paul Arthur Roberts was born on 8 July 1924, Chattanooga, Tennessee, the son of C.P. Roberts and Willie Underwood and husband of Tiny Brock Roberts. He was called into active duty on 7 July 1943. He died non battle on August 25 in a motorcycle accident at Palmer, Grundy County, Tennessee. He was brought to the Station Hospital at Fort Oglethorpe.

Sgt. Paul Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.P. Roberts, 534 Barton Avenue, was killed instantly yesterday near Palmer, Tenn., when a motorcycle he and his bride of a few days were riding, left the road and crashed, according to state police authorities. Mrs. Roberts was rushed to the Palmer Hospital following the accident and was treated last night for serious injuries. She was returned to Chattanooga late last night. Mrs. Roberts was the former Miss Tiny Brock of 703 Poplar Street. State Police Sgt. Hughie Baker left Chattanooga shortly after the accident occurred to determine the cause of the crash. No official report had been made at press time last night.
Entering the army in July, 1943, Roberts was sent overseas in December of the same year, where he served with an infantry unit. He was reported slightly wounded in July, 1944, and again in October of the same year. Roberts had recently returned home to spend a furlough after spending some months at the army redistribution center, Miami, Fla. A former student at the Chattanooga High School, where he played in the band, Roberts was employed at the postoffice with his father before enterig the army.
