Ora Joseph Blaw was born in Peny Will, Missouri, He was the son of Joseph Albert Blaw and Mary Roberta Moore. He was first married to Agnes F. Meintrup. Their son, Ora Joseph Blaw Jr. was born in 1928 in Illinois. He married Frances Marie Jones in 1934 and they had a daughter, Norma Jean Blaw who was born in 1931

Lt. Blaw Died non Battle on 18 March 1944. He 2nd Lt Blaw was the pilot of aircraft P-39Q with serial number 44-3222. He died at Niagara Falls, NY.

Funeral services for Lt. Ora J. Blaw, a pilot in the Army Air Forces Ferry Command who was killed last Saturday when his plane crashed nar Buffalo, N.Y., will be held Saturday at the Mullen undertaking establishment, 5165 Delmar boulevard, followed by interment at Park Lawn Cemetery. Lt. Blaw, at one time a resident of East St. Louis, had lived in Memphis, Tenn., and Detroit in recent years. He joined the Ferry Command a year and a half ago. He was 36 years old. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Blaw of Detroit; a daughter, Norma; and a son by his first marriage, Ora J. Blaw Jr., who lived at 519 North Fifty-second street, East St. Louis.
