United States Army Private First Class served with the Sixth Battalion, 29th Field Artillery. He was killed in action from multiple fragmentation wounds while serving in South Vietnam. He had completed basic training at Fort Campbell, Ky., and attended the Artillery school at Ft. Sill, Okla. He arrived in Vietnam April 13. He was a former employee of the Tennessee Eastman Corporation and a native of Fall Branch. Pfc Bacon was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Bacon and husband of Judy Arnold Bacon.
