Lt. Millard F. Parsley Jr., 28, of Erwin, was killed in an airplane accident at Greenfield, Providence, R.I., Saturday, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.F. Parsley, were notified by the War Department. No details were given. The body will arrive Tuesday morning and funeral services will be at First Presbyterian Church. Lieutenant Parsley was a graduate of Erwin High, State Teachers College, the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and was attending the law college of the University of Michigan when he enlisted as an aviation cadet in August, 1942. He received his commission and wings in April and had visited his home afterwards. Lt. Wayne Parsley was on maneuvers in Mexico when notified yesterday. He left there at 10 a.m. yesterday and reached Tri-City Airport in a bomber 6 p.m. It was reported the largest bomber to land at the airport.
