Mearl Massey was born 14 December 1922 in Norman, Tennessee, the son of Isaac “Ike” Elin Massey and Emily Bowling.
He was killed in action on July 15, 1944, in Burma

Pfc. Mearl Massey was killed in action July 15 in the Burma theater.  He volunteered for service June 27, 1941, and spent two years in Panama, returning to the states for six months before being sent to the Burma theater. He attended Evarts High School. Survivors include five brothers, Orville, Harold, Chester and Leroy and Sgt. Howard Massey, with the Army in Germany.
