McDonald Shubert was born on 20 June 1918. He was the son of Edward Johnson Shubert and Virgie Scott. He was married with Frances H. Thompson and father of Joyce Bernice Shubert and James E. Shubert.

Mrs. Francis T. Shubert received word from the War Department Tuesday that her husband, Private McDonald Shubert, has been reported missing in action since the 17th of November in France. Pvt. Shubert entered the service March 21, 1944 and left for overseas early in September, having spent a 10 day furlow with hsi family in Loudon during August. He was in the Infantry. Pvt. Shubert was popular among the high school students here where he graduated a few years ago. He has two brothers in the service, MOMM3c Eugene serving in the Pacific, and Pvt. Claude Shubert who is stationed in Savannah, Georgia. Pvt. Shubert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Shubert.
