Maurice Parrish was the son of Earl Leslie Parrish and Juanita Pearl Hannah. He was killed in action on Guadalcanal while serving with the Eighth Field Artillery. He enlisted in the army Feb. 5, 1941 and was stationed in Hawaii at the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
