Louis O. Fox was born on 3 December 1926, the son of Lillie Elizabeth Hamilton. His mother married Carl Wesley Henderson in June 1940.
PFC Fox enlisted on June 16, 1942, at Camp Forrest, TN. He was killed in action in France on 1 September 1944.

Pfc. Louis O. Fox, 18, was killed in action Sept. 1 in France, his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Henderson, 300 Riverside Drive, have been notified by the War Department. In addition to his parents, Pfc. Fox is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Boyles, Baltimore, and Miss Olive Fox, Knoxville. He entered the service in June, 1942, and was sent overseas in February of this year. He formerly attended Young High School, and for a time was a member of the Junior football team.
