Lloyd Ward was the son of Link and Tempie Ward.
He was initially buried at the American Cemetery Henri-Chapelle, Belgium.

Mr. and Mrs. Link Ward of route 2, Elizabethton, have been notified that funeral service for their son, the late Pfc. Lloyd Ward, will be conducted from the Soldiers Home National Cemetery in Washington D.C. at 11 a.m. Survivors include the parents; three brothers, Hobart and Earl Ward of route 2, Elizabethton, and William McKinney War of route 1, Max Meadows, Va. Private Ward received military training at Camp Adair, Oregon. He was sent overseas to Belgium in August of 1944 and was killed in action on November 4, 1944 during the invasion of Holland. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Link Ward left today for Washington to attend the service.
