Lloyd Earl Carver was born at Johnson City, Tennessee, the son of Arthur (Britt) Carver and Roxie Ann Smith. He married Miss Lou Carr in 1944. Private Carver was employed by the North American Rayon corporation before entering the United States Marine Corps in 1941. He trained at Parris Island, South Carolina, Norfolk in Virginia, New River in North Carolina and Camp Pendleton, California. He went overseas in November, 1944. He was survived by his widow, parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Lloyd Carver was initially buried at Iwo Jima 3rd Marine Division Cemetery, Kazan Retto.
