Lester Grady Cross was the son of John Martin Cross and Ida Lucy Greer. He was married to Ollie Carpenter. They had a son James E. Cross who died in 1943.
Private First Class Lester G. Cross was assigned to the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division.
He was Killed in Action on the 8th of October 1944 and is interred at the Lorraine American Cemetery, St Avold, France, located at C,16,78.

Pfc. Lester G. Cross was killed in action in France according to a War Department message received by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Cross. Pfc. Cross entered the army on January 20, 1944. He took his basic training in Florida and went overseas on August 4th. Before entering the army he was employed by the Holston Ordnance Works in Kingsport.
