Pfc. Leonard L. James, husband of Mrs. Julia James, 1733 Foust Street, and son of Mrs. David James of Knoxville, was killed in action in Italy April 17, his wife was officially informed. A former employe of the Wade Brown Company before entering the service in 1943, he is survived by his wife, mother, six brothers, EdJames, Soddy; Sgt. Grady James, now in France; Claude James in military service; Jesse James, Knoxville; Lester James, Chattanooga, and William James of Birchwood; five sisters, Mrs. Robert Masters, Sixth Avenue; Mrs. Jack Green, Apison, Tenn.; Mrs. Carl Pendergrass, Chattanooga; Mrs. Harrison, Posey, Soddy, and Mrs. Jim Pickett of Soddy.
