Raymond Kenneth Pickell was born on 2 February 1923 in Loudon County, Tennessee. He was the son of Robert Rutherford Pickel and Bertie Belle Maness.
S/Sgt Pickel was Left Waist Gunner on B-17 serial number 42-97787, which crashed into the North Sea.
