Listed killed in action was Joseph R. Wilson, ARM2C, son of Mrs. Abbie Wilson, 2313 Daisy Street. A former employe of the Davenport Hosiery Mill, Wilson, was killed in action while serving with an aircraft carrier crew in the South Pacific, the Navy Department notified his mother. The department informed his mother that his body was buried on an Allied-held island. In the service since November 1942, he was assigned to a carrier crew in the Pacific last March. He was the brother of S1C Wilburn Wilson, stationed in Solomons, Md., and S1C Robert R. Wilson, now in the South Pacific area.
