Jordan lived on the family farm in Campbell County until moving to Baltimore and enlisting in the army three months after his 20th birthday. Jordan and his four sisters and brother were the 5th generation of Carrolls to live in Campbell County. Both Jordan and his father were given the middle name of Carter in honor of Jordan’s great grandfather who died while serving the Union in the Civil War, William Carter Carroll. Jordan was survived by his wife Zelma Robbins and a daughter Patricia Anne Carroll; sisters Jesse Lee, Thelma, Geneva and Ruth; and brother Hubert
