Sgt. Johnnie Meadows, 27, U.S. Infantry, was killed in action in Germany on March 24, his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Meadows, 1914 Twelfth avenue, Phenix City, has been notified by the War Department. In service since July, 1942, Sergeant Meadows took his basic at Fort Benning. He was sent overseas last October. He was a native of Erin, Tenn. Besides his widow and son, Bill, 19 months, are his mother, Mrs. Roy Evans, Erin, Tenn.; three brothers, Otis, Hogan and Hobert Meadows, all of Erin, Tenn., and two sisters, Miss Christine Meadows and Mrs. Aaron Beasley, both of Erin, Tenn.
