John Henry Dean was born on 8 March 1922 at Rossville, Georgia, the son of Albert Henry Dean and Bessie Irene Holcomb. Husband of Sarah Virgina Stephenson and father of Johnnie Bee Dean.
Died 4 March 1945 in Germany.
PFC Dean was initially buried at the American War Cemetery Henri-Chapelle in Belgium. Reburied at Chattanooga National Cemetery, Y, 252 in 1947.

The body of Pfc. John H. Dean, veteran of World War II, who was killed in Germany, will arrive in Chattanooga this morning. He is survived by his father, Henry H. Dean, LaFayette, Ga.; one daughter, Johnnie Bee Dean, St. Elmo; two sisters, Miss Maybell Dean, Cleveland, Tenn., and Miss Annie Ruth Dean, Rossville, Ga., and two brothers, Frank Dean, Chattanooga and George Dean, Cleveland, Tenn.
