John Henry Bond was the son of John Westley Bond and Fannie Winfree.
Private First Class Bond was a member of the 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was killed in action while fighting the enemy in North Korea.

Reported missing is Pfc. John Henry Bond, 22, son of Mrs. Fannie Bond, 2813 East 46th Street. According to information received by his mother, Pfc. Bond has been missing in action since Dec. 12, 1950. He was serving as a member of the 31st Infantry Regiment, Seventh Division. A graduate of East Lake Junior High School, Pfc. Bond entered the army last March. He received his training at Fort Knox, Ky., and has been overseas since last summer.
