Private First Class John David Reynolds was born on July 13, 1947, and was originally from Daisy, Tennessee, a small town north of Chattanooga in Hamilton County. He served his country in the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps, as a field radio operator in H&S Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On September 7, 1967, PFC Reynolds was the victim of an artillery attack under hostile conditions in Quang Tri province, South Vietnam; he died the following day, September 8, 1967. He was 20 at the time of his death. PFC Reynolds is memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Panel 26E, Line 37.
