Pvt. Joe Loftis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Loftis, Soddy, Route 2, previously reported missing in action was killed in action in France June 12. He attended Soddy-Daisy School and was employed at the TNT plant prior to enlisting in the army in March, 1943. He was attached to a tank division, and is a brother of Hoyt and Willard Loftis of Soddy.
