Blountville – The body of Private Joe Henard, son of Roy B. Henard of Blountville who was killed in action November 7, 1944 in Germany, will arrive in Bluff City. Veterans of Bluff City and Blountville will meet the body on arrival. Private Henard attended high school in Blountville. He served with the 893rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. Following his death in Germany, the body was taken back through the lines for burial in Belgium. Survivors are his father, three brothers, Pat and Marx, Blountville and Ray Henard, Kingsport; three sisters, Mrs. Gertie Case, Surgoinsville; Miss Betty and Miss Mary Henard, Blountville. Full military honors will be accorded at the grave by Hammond Post No. 3 American Legion, of Kingsport. Burial will be in Millpoint Cemetery.
