James Russell Gee was born on 30 September 1919, the son of James Reuben Breeden and Cordie M. Goins. Husband of Margaret Christine Dixon and father of Patsy Ann Gee and Virginia Sue Gee.
He Died non Battle 12 June 1942

Cpl Gee was killed in an airplane accident in Sarasota, Florida. He was the son of Luke Luther Gee and Cordie Goins. Buried at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery, Cleveland, Bradley County, Tennessee.

Eight Army Fliers killed in crash
Sarasota, Fla. June 12 – Eight army fliers were killed and two injured early today when a four-engined bomber crashed into Sarasota bay. Major Gardiner Fiske, Sarasota air base intelligence officer, said the heavy ship had cleared the runway on a pre-dawn training flight and gone about a mile when it went out of control. It landed on its back in a foot and a half of water about 200 feet from shore and two of the crew were pulled from the wreckage with only minor injuries.

The body of Corpl. James R. Gee, 22, who died early Friday morning at Sarasota, Fla., in an airplane accident will arrive in Cleveland at noon Sunday. The body will be taken to the chapel of the Moore Funeral Home to remain until 2:30 p.m., when it will be taken to the home of her young soldier’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Gee, Cleveland, Route 5, near the Chilcutt school.
