James Richard Foust was born near Island Ford, Anderson County, TN, the son of Hugh Alfred Foust adn Lillie May Cole. His sisters were Maxie Irene Foust, Vesta Verlena Foust, Teressia A. Foust and Mari Lynn Foust. He had one brother, Hollis Lee Foust. He married Dorothy Ridenour on 10 July 1944. James Foust served with the Civilian Conservation Corps prior to his World War II service.
He was killed in Action, France
He is buried in Island Ford Cemetery.
