Second Lt. James P. Walsh, son of Mrs. E.J. Walsh of Whitehall Terrace and of the late Mr. Walsh, prominent Chattanooga manufacturer, was killed in the fighting on Iwo March 11, the Navy Department notified next of kin. Lt. Walsh attended Notre Dame High School here and later the University of Tennessee and Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. He entered the Marine Corps about two years ago as a Reserve officer and later was given a regular commission in the Corps. He went overseas for combat duty last October. He was the brother of M/Sgt. Tom Walsh, who was recently wounded in Europe and is now recuperating at the Kennedy General Hospital in Memphis; Sgt. Charlie Walsh, now serving somewhere in Europe; W.L. Walsh, John Walsh, Mrs. Beryl Kemp and Miss Rosemary Walsh, all of Chattanooga.
