James Melvin Bradshaw was the son of Warren Moses Bradshaw and Nancy Jane Carter. He was married to Mary Lucille Foster and father of Melva Lou Bradshaw, Joel Thomas Bradshaw, James Bradshaw.

On the day the Germans in Italy surrendered, Mrs. James Melvin Bradshaw of Grassy mountain received a message that her husband had been killed in northern Italy April 17. He was with General Clark’s 5th army. Had been overseas since last Armistice day. Age 24, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucile Foster Bradshaw and 3 children, age 10 months, 3 years and 5 years. Other survivors include his mother, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters, all of Athens.
