James Harrison Troutt was the son of Jesse Franklin “Frank” Troutt and Lela Lorelle Goodwin.
He died non Battle 31 December 1942 in Egypt. Crewmember of B-25C Mitchell #41-13174 which crashed near Hadjeo El Hamis, (Massakory), Chad , east of Lake Chad, after departing Kano, Nigeria. He was returned from El-Alia Military Cemetery in Algeria.

Staff Sgt. James H. (Jimmy)  Troutt, 18, was killed in action “somewhere” in the African war zone on December 31, according to a telegram received from the War Department by his mother, Mrs. Ray Fyke of Cedar Hill. The telegram stated that he was killed in air action and that details were being forwarded by letter. Sergeant Troutt was an aerial gunner I n the Army Air Forces. He enlisted May 26, 1942, shortly  after his graduation from Cedar Hill High School. He was a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Rias H. Goodwin, Sr., of the Methodist Church at Cedar Hill
