James Enoch Caudill was born 27 January 1895, Cedar Bluff, Virginia, son of James Malachi Thomas Caudill and Mary Louise Bell. He enlisted at Crossville on 20 June 1917. PFC Caudill was killed in action at age 22 on 29 September 1918 attacking the Hindenburg Line
