James Clay Glover was the son of Orval F. Glover and Carrie E Beatty. He was married to Joy Alberta Snyder and father of Julia Caye Glover. He enlisted on September 16, 1940, in Knoxville, TN

He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 117th Infantry Regiment, 30th Division in the Communications section. He died 15 July 1944 when the unit was fighting in Normandy, France. He is buried in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
